We're open
Billinghay Medical Practice Reception is a very busy and organised place to work, run by 6 ladies with different backgrounds, skill sets and personalities. All working different hours to come together to make an excellent team with only ONE aim, to strive to give our patients the time and care they require.
No day is the same and brings different challenges for our team. We have a robust rota giving the team specific jobs to ensure all duties are completed as smoothly as possible, whilst adhering to all standard operating procedures which are in place to protect both the staff and patients.
The three main areas of work:
Front desk is the main receptionist the patient will deal with on the day. They will answer the telephones and make appointments, also deal with all manner of queries the patient brings and signpost to the correct department. They will invite patients to be seen in the correct clinics and deal with the clinicians on their queries and organise ambulances in emergencies and endeavour to keep clinics running smoothly.
Admin desk is where all the paperwork is processed. Ensuring all letters are attached to the correct patient records and sent for processing. New patients are registered on to the system in a timely manner.
Back desk is where the coding of letters processed by the admin desk is done and then sent on to correct department for further input. New patient records are summarised on to the computer system. Clinics are added to the system ensuring we have enough clinics and staff to run each day.
Each desk has it separate challenges but all are vital to the running of the surgery.
