We're open
Here at Billinghay Medical Practice we offer a wide range of appointments.
If you are needing to see a clinician for an acute or ongoing medical issue these are all triaged through AskMyGP. You can submit your request using this link askmyGP or if you do not have access to the internet you can phone up our reception team who will submit the request for you. Our receptionist will have to ask you the same questions that are on the online submission.
All requests are then triaged to the most appropriate clinician and the clinician will be in contact within 24 hours to offer some medical help. This could be in the form of a message reply on AskMyGP, a telephone consultation or a face to face appointment.
If you need to book an appointment with one of our Practice Nurses, please phone up reception who will ensure your appointment is booked for the correct amount of time with the correct Nurse.
If you need to book in for a blood test or for an appointment with one of our Health Care Assistants, please phone up reception who will book these appointments for you.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
We have seen an increase in patients contacting us for an appointment regarding a dental problem.
Dental problems are best assessed by dental practitioners who are fully trained in that field, there is a regulator for this area and anyone who wishes to treat dental issues must be registered with the General Dental Council. The number of patients seeking dental advice from their GP is increasing. There are regional and national challenges around patients accessing NHS dental services. Most GPs will have had little or no training in managing dental issues and are not indemnified or regulated to work out outside of their competences, when a dentist is best placed for dealing with dental issues, and will therefore redirect you to consult with a dentist.
If you have a dental problem and are registered with an NHS or private dentist either in an emergency or have an urgent dental problem, please contact them in the first instance. If you do not have a regular dentist, you can telephone NHS 111 to be given details of local services available in an emergency.
